Sunderland Volunteer centre logoFREE volunteering from Employees

Another great opportunity has come our way that may be of great use to you. I have been approached by HMRC Sunderland Contact Centre who have 8-10 members of staff who would like to donate a day of their time to a local Charity or voluntary organisation. They have suggested they would be interested in working with young people or children, a conservation day or a painting or decorating task but are still open to any other suggestions, as long as it doesn't involve spiders!!  They are looking to do their volunteering any day between Sept and Dec, so if anyone has suggestions of how they could benefit from their help, please get in touch as soon as possible.  If your organisation is interested contact Anna Jones, Volunteer Centre Sunderland. SERVICES

northumbria police logoNeighbourhood Police Forums

We have been holding Neighbourhood Police forums for the past couple of months. The concept behind these forums is that local residents can come and speak to their local officers and tell us of any problems/incidents in their area, but away from the police station (which people often see as intimidating). The local officers will be available to speak to and assist with any problems/concerns the public may have. These meetings have yet to "take off" as we have been unable to broadcast them correctly even though the press have been informed.

Our next "Open Forum" is 18th September 3pm-5pm at the Fire Station on North Moor Lane, Farringdon.
