image of bike rideSunderland Family Bike Club – Winter Rides 2007-08.

• Shorten rides where necessary on the day, otherwise split rides between ‘short’ and ‘moderate’. Keep flexible;
• Tie in with other organised rides- especially the summer;
• Try a vehicle-assisted ride (option for trailers that carry 12 (RStather) and 9 bikes (Gburnett);
• Promote the local rides, openly available, no need to book, no membership;
• Keep the starts fairly similar, round the Barnes/Silksworth area.
• The direction of the circular routes will be flexible, dependent upon others joining the ride later on, and also on wind direction/exposure- i.e. cycle into wind within trees, with wind on exposed stretches.

Earlier starts are needed in the winter for the longer rides. Suggest all starts at Silksworth because of the car park availability.  Click here for all dates

FUNDING INFORMATION

Image of moneySupporting the environment for a healthy Voluntary and Community Sector (VCS), in the North East region.
This LSC sponsored project provides the VCS in the region with a unique opportunity to develop training infrastructure and access funding. The overall aim of the project is to identify a number of VCS organisations that are willing and able to develop an accredited, sustainable learning provision capable of delivering the Train to Gain service in order to support the workforce development needs of the voluntary and community sector in the region. The project will work in close partnership with the four sub-regional VCS learning consortia, building upon work undertaken previously by them to develop capacity in the VCS to deliver accredited learning provision.
The project will focus on testing five different approaches to engaging VCS training providers in delivering Train to Gain activity as part of a Type C contract. Type C is flexible funding used by the LSC in response to regional or sector demand.  Click here for further details

Image of moneyA Quick A - Z of Funding Sources
The Quick A-Z of Funding Sources gives an updated account of the grants available in the Sunderland area. This information is entered into a brief accessible spreadsheet form, which contains four columns. The first gives the name of the organisation that awards the grant. The second gives the details of the appropriate website. The third column gives details of what the grant funds and the closing date is given in the fourth column. click here for spreadsheet

Image of moneyHousing Corporation Innovation and Good Practice Grant
