The A690 Youth Initiative Launches 'THE CAGE'

The cage is a portable metal enclosure, designed to allow young people to play 2 on 2 touch football. The 'Cage' can be erected in various locations where there is restricted or no youth facilities available. In March of this year, in partnership with 'Wearside Youth 4 Christ, The A690 introduced the 'Cage' to the area and over a one week period it attracted over 200 young people. As this was a huge success the A690 applied for and were successful in raising funds from various trust and charities,to commission the production of their own 'Cage' and to develop and deliver a full programme of cage activities for the young people from across the areas. The A690’s new ‘Cage’ was officially launched on Wednesday 28th November.

North of England Refugee Service Youth Integration Conference on January 16th 2008 at the National Glass Centre. The final program will be circulated soon but will include a day of workshops, performances, feedback from the Refugee Service's projects and celebrations of youth and diversity in the region. The Farringdon Jubilee Centre is giving you the opportunity to develop your skills, to over come any obstacles you have in gaining employment.   Do you need a CSCS certificate? Sunderland South Forum - Development Coordinator - £24,500 fixed term till 31st March 2009, continuation subject to securing future funding. Funded by Northern Rock Foundation.
The post holder will require a minimum of two years' project management experience in the Youth and Community sector.

                  • Overall coordination of the Project and supervision of staff

Co-ordinator to develop their Volunteer Integration Programme NJC Scale 6 point 27 (currently £22,122)

35 hours pro rata.  The successful applicant should have a recognised qualification in youth work, experience of managing staff and volunteers and a commitment to promoting equality of opportunity.

They also have vacancies for Four Part Time Youth Workers.  10 hours a week at £7.54 per hour. To help develop their Volunteer Integration Programme.   Candidates must possess or be working towards a recognised JNC qualification in youth work and have at least one years' experience in a youth work setting.
