s/land city council What’s Cooking Together Project - Community Food Leaders

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Sunderland to work within local communities delivering healthy eating messages and carrying out cooking skills sessions with children and their families.

The What’s Cooking Together project offers young people and their families the opportunity to develop practical cookery skills together, whilst learning about food and the benefits of eating healthily.

Community Food Leaders will ideally have a passion for cooking and promoting healthy eating, and be willing to share that passion with children and families.

No formal qualification or experience is needed to become a Community Food Leader as training on delivering a cooking session is provided. In addition ongoing support is available throughout the programme.

Community Food Leaders will also undertake a basic food hygiene course.

As a community Food Leader you will work in pairs to deliver cooking clubs to children aged 8-11 and their families. Food and equipment is provided to run the clubs which includes 10 hours of direct delivery.
