Charity Earns ISO 9001 Quality Mark
Local Charity, Age Concern Sunderland has been awarded the internationally recognised ISO 9001 certification award for quality management systems.
The award only goes to organisations who can prove they have systems and procedures in place that ensure they deliver and maintain quality services at all times. Following a rigorous audit process the award was made just before Christmas and enables the charity to display the ISO 9001 Quality Mark on all its literature.
Paul Sturgess, the certification body auditor, says “Age Concern Sunderland passed with flying colours and the evidence found during the audit process indicates they have quality at the heart of all they do and all those involved within the process demonstrated a high level of commitment”.
Alan Patchett, Director of Age Concern Sunderland says, “All members of staff have worked very hard to achieve this prestigious award and it demonstrates that we are committed to delivering the very best quality services for all older people across the city”.
Age Concern Sunderland was established in 1950 and celebrates 60 years of service to the older people of Sunderland with its Diamond Jubilee in 2010. Many events are planned throughout the year to highlight the issues faced by older people and the work of the organisation in every part of the city.
